Concerts & Events

The Symphonic Winds and Swing Orchestra perform two – three times a year, usually giving a Spring and Fall concert. Performances are also held throughout the area at various colleges, schools and churches. The bands have performed at city festivals and have been a part of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department’s “Concert in the Park” series, which is held at Highland Park. In September 2013, selected members of the Symphonic Winds also performed in an orchestra with a choir of almost 400 members at Casey Jones Village Amphitheater during “Worship Under the Stars,” a Night of Worship and Celebration, sponsored by the Englewood Baptist Church of Jackson.

The Jackson Area Community Bands will present their fall/winter concert on Monday, December 8th, 2025, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Union University’s Savage Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public. The Symphonic Winds, under the baton of Mr. Steven R.
